These are my first AIO's and have come in handy for my DH and older children to use when diapering our toddler and infant. For the infant I usually use them after she's done her #2 because it doesn't hold up to a BF baby's business. That said they are just fine for our toddler. They do have to be changed often because they do leak. If I put the flannel insert/doubler in them they last a little longer.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I've been using these for a while with my 2 toddlers and I've enjoy them and decided to purchase a few for my newborn while I was pregnant. My baby was 7 lbs 6 oz at birth and is currently 8 lbs and the newborn size still doesn't fit AT ALL. From what I know bout the other sizes, the diapers are absorbent and comfortable. BUT they take a long time to dry and harvest the urine smell worse than other diapers. Overall they are good diapers, but they require a little extra cleaning care and they aren't the best for small newborns.

We received these as a gift having heard about them from a friend. They have been our primary diapers for over a year now. They work well and, especially with the liners, they don't have any more leaks than disposable. My only disappointment is that, despite mostly line drying, they have almost all frayed. We're still using them, though, and my baby is even a little heavier than the upper weight limit.
This diaper has worked very well for my busy-bee, 17 mos., toddler. I manage to put this diaper on while my little one insists on walking! It is a bit on a bulky side, but, I have to admit, there is some charm in this! His bottom looks like an adorable buBBLe and he has no trouble walking around and doing his usual busy toddler things! I actually love seeing him in this diaper and we get sweet comments from strangers and neighbors every time they seem my little boy in this diaper. I don't even bother putting on pants or shorts in the hot TX summer. The diapers come in such cute patterns, that he walks around with nothing but his diaper! It doesn't leak and fits very well around chubby thighs.
In my opinion, these diapers are just ok. They were very affordable, but you get what you pay for. These diapers left my baby feeling wet, and after you wash them, they take a very long time to dry. I also had a PROblem with the velcro coming undone in the wash and creating a diaper chain. I would use these over disposables any day, but these are my least favorite diapers.
These are ok, I am new to cloth diapering and I have tried a variety of the AIO's these are somewhat narrow in the crotch and I have had some leakage because of that. They do take a long time to dry as well. Prints are cute and the exterior is kind of a textured material that is not so bad as some have made it sound.
Having tried the majority of AIO and pocket diapers on the market over my grandsons 19 months, these are one of my top 4 favorites. I like the flap for convenience (no stuffing), absorbancy, and quick drying. The cons would be: not as softer outer as some (and I did not know they had PVC!), and the velcro tabs do not always stay secured to laundry tabs when washing so things stick to them and they collect loose hair. Even so, they are a diaper I reach for when babysitting.
I am a BumGenius fan, but I thought I would try the Kushies based on some reviews and the economical pricing. So far, I really like them. My baby is currently an average sized 13 lbs. The velcro tabs meet in the middle and I have to cinch the diaper pretty tight to keep the legs from gapping, so I'm not sure they would have fit if he were any smaller. The diapers wash very well in my top-loader with BumGenius detERGent. They dry quickly compared to the BumGenius AIOs. I have not had any leaks. The "two cute prints" that came in my 5-pack were cars & multicolored swirls- I love them! I have been reaching for these a lot and I think I will even more as my baby gets a little bigger. Would buy them again for sure!
These diapers are okay, they do leak, but not as bad as other and if I stuff the flap with an insert the leaking is not a PROblem. The laundry tabs do not hold at all. Not a bad diaper for the price, but I would not buy more.
For a thinner baby these don't gather enough in the legs, my BF daughter had blow out every time. Now that she is over 10lbs I don't have that PROblem any more but that is because she is still using the newborn size. Overall they are a pretty good inexpensive AIO since it's pretty common to have blow outs with cloth diapers and still possible with disposables.
I always liked the IDEA of cloth diapers, but wasn't sure if I could really stick with it or not. These are super-easy, especially if you use the flushable liners. So far very absorbent, and leak less than when we use disposable diapers. (My daughter is 5 months old.) Well worth the price, especially when you figure in that you don't have to buy diaper covers.
I received a set of Bum Genius as a shower gift, but needed more than just 7 diapers and couldn't afford more of those. Then I found Kushies. What a great deal! I find them to work just as well as the BG's (maybe even better because the flap of the BG's where the velcro is tend to wick moisture). They are not as soft and luxurious but the narrow crotch is nice for baby. I use prefolds at night, but for ease of use, ease of care (no stuffing) dependability, and affordability these are the all-around best!
This diaper is ok. There is no elastic at the back and the gathering around the legs can get loose once the diaper is wet. If you don't change the diaper immediately after it's wet it will leak (with a heavy wetter at any rate). The waist is nice though. The innner layer is very soft.
At first I was skeptical b/c it is one the more economical diapers on the market but it has worked great for us. Very easy to use. One downfall is that it does not come in a lot of different prints but it funtions great and dries quickly after a wash. I would recommend it to anyone not wanting to spend too much money but wanting a functional diaper.
Maybe it is just because I am a prefold girl, but I just haven't found this diaper to be that absorbent. It seems like I put it on my two year old and before I turn around, it's already soaked. Like I said, maybe for those that use AIO it is in the normal range, but I really like prefolds a lot better
I thought the Kushies diaper wasn't really great, but it does make cloth diapering easy since you don't have to fiddle with a separate liner and cloth diaper. And when your baby is able to roll over and twist around on the changing table, then you can really appreciate how fast you can get this diaper on. What I didn't like about it was the velco tabs being so narrow and short. They limit your ability to truly secure the diaper.
My husband thought I was crazy for going the cloth route (he was picturing pins and poop leaking everywhere), but after using these he was convinced it's the way to go...the velcro couldn't be simpler. These held up THRough my 2 kids no PROblem, and have been passed on to another family with kids. These are an excellent investment and so easy to use and clean. We did occasionally have leaks with my daughter because she had skinny thighs, but that happened with all diapers we used...with my son, this rarely happened because he wasn't as petite. I highly recommend giving these a try, even if the thought of cloth scares you! :)
I love these diapers. They are super easy to use, and my husband loves them. They work just like disposables. The only PROblem I've ever had is in fit, and that wasn't the diaper, it was my baby. If they aren't snug around the legs, they will leak, so he couldn't start wearing the newborn size until he was about a month old. The other thing is there is a big size gap between newborn and infant. He's 15 pounds and is too big to wear the newborn but just a little to small for the infant. Any PROblems with this diaper are because of fit and size of the baby and not the diaper itself. I haven't had any PROblems once he was big enough to wear them.
You can't do your child a bigger favor; and the environment and your wallet too! They don't only look nice, but they are safe, easy to clean (if you dry them in the sun, you will never have stains!), and your child will get potty trained sooner - so you safe twice. They are the only ones I ever used and when I found something I like, I stick with it or I will just get disappointed. It is worth the extra half hour washing a day for me! The earth will thank me for it!
I love these diapers!! I wish I would have known about them sooner for my 2 1/2 year old. I have used them for my second daughter since she was about 6 weeks old. They leak less than disposable diapers, because they offer more coverage. They are easy to clean. I am doing so much laundry anyway with two infants, I just wash them every other day when I have about 10 diapers to wash. I hang them on a drying rack to dry in our basement (weather is unpredictable in new york to hang them outside to dry). They can be dried in the dryer, but will last longer if drip dried. I love not having to spend so much money on disposable diapers and knowing I will not run out of diapers. I also like know I am doing something good for our environment, by not creating so much waste.
Family friendly diaper! I prefer them over prefolds, just for shear quickness. Take care in washing these correctly, so that they may last. We just got into the toddler size, which is a little large on my lean baby, but we make it work with the adjusting tabs and velcro. I believe it is a practical and affordable cloth diaper. I don't want the cheap ones, and I can't afford the pricier ones, so this all-in-one is perfect! I just feel good about not being so wasteful using disposables!!!!!!
