These little wipes are great. So far I have only used them on wet diapers, and I think thats how I'll keep it, but thats just a personal choice. I'm sure they would work well for messy diapers too. I use these wipes on my newborn. While I love the prints and the softness, I didn't really like that the flannel side shrunk in the wash, so it doesn't match the softer side in size. It doesn't interfere with the function though! I like having two sides, I use the flannel one first when cleaning up messes and then the organic cotton velour to really clean things up (you can see stuff on it better)
